Rules
For the purposes of these rules,
Definitions
- 'Murder@CSE' is a competition being held by
CSESoc, in conjunction
with the School of Computer Science and Engineering.
- a 'kill' is defined in these Rules, 1. This does not infer any
physical violence, see Rules, 2.
- the 'mediator' is the disciplinary body, which are made up of
non-competing members of CSESoc, or others that the event organisers
may designate.
- To contact the mediator, send an email to
'csesoc.murder@cse'
or find Ramana around the labs (ramanak@cse.unsw.edu.au)
- Being 'hunted' means that the person in question is currently a target
in the competition.
- The 'killer' (in the context) is the person who is currently looking
for another person.
- The 'victim' (in the context) is the person who has just been killed
(Rules,1) or who is being hunted.
- 'Off-limits' means that that person is not allowed to either seek
their victim, or be killed.
Rules
- A 'kill' is considered when the following happens.
- You find your victim.
- You approach them and say "I am hunting you and you are DEAD" (or something).
When this happens, the victim must tell their murderer their password, so
that the details can be entered into the web-site.
- You register your kill on the Murder@CSE
web-site. You will then be given a new target.
- The player who was "killed" is no longer in the competition for that week.
- No physical violence or threat of physical violence may be used.
Such breaches of rules should be reported to campus security (9385
6666 or x6666)
- Staff are off-limits while they are working. (This only
includes the times when these staff are rostered on.)
- Only kills that are made on the University grounds, between 7am and 11:59pm
are valid.
- If you are found to be disrupting people in any labs, lectures or or
tutorials, We will kick you out of the competition.
- Players who are attending a lecture, tutorial or lab that is part of
their course-work, or at any COMPSOC or CSE Activity (for example Mentor)
are off-limits.
- To register any complaints or to report people breaking these rules,
email the
mediator <csesoc.murder@cse>
- These rules may change at any time. Notice may be given in the
form of an email.
- Notices, updates and announcements will be made by a mailing list.
You will be responsible for keeping up to date with any announcements,
not reading your email is no excuse.
- The victim that you are hunting will change once a week.
You will get an email on Friday evening to signify this, and tell you
about your new victim. We recommend that you log onto the
Murder@CSE
web-site on Monday to confirm who you are hunting, and what they look
like.
